Burning CDs - fine when there is a natural silence at the end of a track. BUT - with WMP I get a little gap between tracks even when the original is continuous. According to the Help page, this behavio(u)r cannot be turned off. So, I've just downloaded RealPlayerPlus which claims to get rid of the 2 second gap. It does - but there's still a tiny gap... anyone any suggestions - better software etc?

Almost any burning software is better than that. Many CD/DVD burners some with Nero Burning ROM. Even in the somewhat cut-down version distributed with new PCs, burners, etc, you can choose to get rid of such gaps entirely. If you decide to buy a full version, I believe it comes with a very useable audio editor with which you could spruce up your tracks before burning, if you wanted.

Yes - thanks, Tommo and Bryn. I don't want to go down the iPod route, but am going to quietly absorb this info and hopefully find a solution over the Christmas break (gap!)

... with Nero Burning ROM.

I may be a little vague on history (1066 and all that) but didn't Nero fiddle while ROME burned?

No, I'm not a complete idiot. I'm only a halfwit. In fact I'm actually a catfish.

The pun is Ahead's, not mine, Kitty. It's an example of German humour, I am advised.

Hardly any worse than Toast, Roxio's Mac burning software, let alone the associated music audio file application Jam....
