A typically disconnected set of pieces and styles from the Royal College in this concert.

One of the performers will be this village's eruanto.

Schubert: Piano Sonata D845
Bach: Violin Sonata BWV 1003
Dutilleux: Sonatine
Poulenc: Violin Sonata
Nielsen: Chaconne
Anthony Herschel Hill: Litany
Rachmaninoff: Variations on a theme by Corelli
Schumann: Papillons
Mozart: Violin Sonata K304
McDowall: Street Café
Martinu: La Revue de Cuisine

Sounds like an excellent programme, eruanto, and one which could happily grace the schedules of Through The Night. The Poulenc sonata is a gem. Do you want to reveal which piece/instrument you will be playing?

My piece is the Nielsen Chaconne (for piano solo).

Interesting you should mention Through the Night, I think that was where I noticed the Nielsen on one occasion and decided to learn it.

It's hard to know what to make of it!
