My wife and I went to see a 2 piano recital given by Leon McCawley and Ashley Wass at the Sir Jack Lyons concert hall in York on Wednesday just gone.  The programme was of Mozarts Piano Sonata for piano duet (K448) and Beethoven's 9th Symphony, arranged for 2 pianos by Liszt.

One word sums up the concert - Incredible!

I'm not sure if they are performing these works anywhere else but if they are, GO!!

I heard a recording of Mozart Piano sonata played by Joseph Levine and  Rosina Levine and it was fantastic.

In college we had to play arrangements of Beethoven symphonies for 8 hands (2 pianos and 4 people playing).
It was fun.

I never saw this picture of Liszt. They look so much alike with Chopin.

I would not like him, I think. I like different men. Chopin is different. I take it back that they are twins.

What composer one would fall in love with (the name of a next thread).
Talking about Mozart sonata for two piano, it is really great work. I have a tape with Josef Levhinne and his wife playing it.
Liszt arrangement of Beethoven must be very interesting. I wish I were at that concert Jonathan.

What is amazing about Liszt is that he helped so many musicians and forgave a lot of badmouthing of himself and ingratitute.I don't know how he could be so magnanimous and forgiving.

Liszt looks like healthy Chopin.

Who is it, martle? They should be in another thread. I am worried people will not like it. Ron Dogh on the other thread was not happy when we strayed away from the topic. This belong to two threads.
That fellow is very charrismatic.
