Those within striking distance of London's picturesque Dalston Junction might wish to attend this

Thur 13 SEPT
The Vortex Jazz Club, 11 Gillett Street, London N16 8JH. 8:45 pm.
Evan Parker: tenor sax, John Edwards: bass & Tony Marsh: drums

and see what all the fuss is about.

Probably going to be watching Skip (Veryan Weston piano, Hugh Metcalfe - guitar/violin, etc) on the 13/08 the very same day in Peckham.

8 is August is it? Well I never. I just asked John if he wouldn't mind changing it when he gets a chance. (Hopefully before next week...) Or I shall have to start another thread.

Thanks John.

I've been revising the months today and I think I can get them all in the right order now. I don't know whether I'm quite ready to be tested on them yet though.

I think that must count as one of those mistakes that didn't matter until it was pointed out. Not only had I not noticed it (or what I now presume it was) but I read Ollie's marquee with some considerable confusion, and thought Richard was talking about having asked John Butcher to change the date of the concert. None of which made any sense at all really.

Having said that, I got quite confused this afternoon trying to work out why my payslips for April, June and October all had odd numbers on them, until I realised that the tax year is 3 months behind the calendar and not 4 months.

I think I might make it to both the events suggested next week (this and Alvin Curran on Friday). Certainly one of them. Look forward to seeing people there. Smiley

tinners, is there a John Butcher connection here I don't see?  Undecided

Er, I would probably pop along but I'll be in Köln that evening. I'm in London briefly on the 17th though.

Ollie, there are so many connections I fail to see on re-reading my message (quite apart from saying October when I obviously meant August, which given the context is almost wilfully obtuse) that I think I should just give up and find something to eat.

Ooh, thanks CD, that's just what I feel like now!

(Just one thing: can I have tea instead of coffee?)
