I heard the excellent Dante Quartet playing at Droitwich last night.

The venue is not ideal as a concert hall, being a methodist church, but they gave a wonderful performance of:
Haydn op 54 no 2
Ian Venables op 32
Elgar E minor op 83
I've been a fan of theirs for some years, ever since I heard them giving a lunchtime performance of Beethoven's op 13x (can't remember whether it was 131 or 132 - if I were more organised, I'd be able to look it up!) This was before Bernard Gregor-Smith joined them from the Lindsays. I noticed in the programme that they won the 2007 RPS Chamber Music award.
