Went to hear the excellent

tonight, conducted by Oliver Knussen. He seems to get bigger every time I see him!

Their programme (which was a tad on the short side but no harm in that, meant I was home in time for Pre-Hear) was:

Silvestre Revueltas: Homenaje a Federico Garcia Lorca
Mark-Anthony Turnage: Snapshots; Tango
Silvestre Revueltas: Pianos; Sensemaya (chamber version)
Julian Anderson: Book of Hours (with electronics)

A very good concert, I enjoyed everything, which happens less often than I'd like. The Turnage pieces are 2 short movements from his ballet From All Sides. Revueltas was previously unknown to me but a chap I know who I was talking to in the interval said he's got 2 recordings of each Revueltas piece played tonight - so he's obviously better known than I thought.

Revueltas' music is worth getting to know and not as obscure as you might have thought. Sensemaya is probably his best known work, not in the version you heard, but as an orchestral work: crudely put, it sounds a bit like Varese writing a Latin-American big band work in 7/8. If you got on well with those pieces, I'd recommend La noche de los Mayas (Night of the Mayas) for starters.
