I told you it was good!

Do you get any more detailed commentary?

Fabbo, eru! 80% is what it says it is. In universities, 70% is the threshold for a First Class mark, almost always. I'm sure it's the same at conservatoires.  Smiley Smiley

Even though you're not "supposed" to put them on the black notes, you still get a from me Smiley

Grin

Yup, 70 is a first, so erm... Shocked Shocked Shocked

Do you get any more detailed commentary?

Yes, either a little bit from the chair of the panel or lots from the "external specialist". The chair's comments run

This was a recital of two halves (both on a high level) but the Brahms reaching a truly outstanding level - a profoundly moving experience for the audience. In the Beethoven sonata playing was secure (despite one memory lapse) + showed sincerity, if not yet probing enough. Rounded off with a delightful and witty 'Ragamuffin', this playing left the panel with an extremely satisfying impression. Some memorable playing here!

Embarrassed

I feel really guilty actually, lots of people got really low marks, in the 40s....

Guilt is not the right feeling here, and must be banished forthwith.

I wish I'd been there, Eruanto. I love piano recitals and never find the time to get to them, and this sounds like a very nice program in deed. Congratulations on your success!

Better be careful that you're never caught in a truel with any two of them though...

Don't feel guilty!  Well done.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

An experienced and jaded examiner writes:

Eru, you just do not get 80% without being deserving of it. We educators like to stay our hands in dishing out the 70s, let alone anything higher. Well done!

Cool - absolutely agree, although they could have picked out some better things about the Beethoven than 'secure'.....

Well done
