If anybody happens to be in the vicinity of Perth (the original one, not its antipodean autonym) then they might like to investigate this.

Wild horses, let alone cross ones wouldn't keep me away now I've discovered it's on. hh? Stuart?

Ron, neither wild nor cross horses have intervened to scupper my attending this one, but sadly the need to attend a family memorial service in Ireland will do...

I'm really sorry to hear that, Stuart, on both counts. I don't see how it can fail to please me - I've known and loved the piece ever since tuning a little way into the first broadcast on R3 (Nov '72) but never had an opportunity to experience it live. Currie and co. made an excellent job of it at the Proms, so unless there's something untoward on the day, it should be magic.
