I've just spent the week in Brussels with the LSO and Boulez, filming for some more LSO online promos. I've posted about it on my blog, http://onemoretake.blogspot.com and included some pics of Boulez.

Last night's concert was stunning - Schoenberg's Die gluckliche Hand, a new piece by Matthias Pintscher and Bartok's Duke Bluebeard's Castle (with Peter Fried and Michelle De Young). The same performers repeat the concert at the Barbican on Sunday. I recommend it to you all.

By the way, thanks to all of you that visited (and contributed to) my blog about the Rajars. Very interesting to read your responses. And it's the most visits my blog has ever received!

best,

Tommy

Tommy,

I managed to get along to the Barbican on Sunday, and it was indeed stunning. The only problem at times (at least where I was sitting) was the balance: the sheer size of the orchestral forces threatened to ovewhelm the singing in a few places. This was my first live Pintscher, and there was lots in it to admire, though on one hearing it didn't quite gel. But I loved the sounds from the contrabass clarinet! Smiley

Die glückliche Hand and Bluebeard were both marvellous: wouldn't they make a wonderful and fascinating staged double-bill? (Plenty of work for the lighting crew! Cheesy) Very glad that Boulez got a thunderous ovation at the end.

Were any other r3ok boarders there?

Hi, I was there with my girlfriend. It was indeed stunning. The previous Boulez concert - Bartok’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Percussion was stunning too.
