Just a small plug for an event in which I participated last week (as a dep) put on by Opera North.
It involves a (very good) singer (Jess Walker) and a 7-piece band. A hatful of Tom Waits songs and other things besides.

Performances this week at the Lowry, Salford Quays (Mon 20th), Wednesday 22nd (York University), Thursday 23rd (Sage, Gatehead) and Sat/Sun 25/26th (Courtyard Theatre, Leeds).
