I'm just beginning to get excited about next weekend, when I'll be hitting London for a wild time....

Anyone else?

We're going to the Comedy Theatre on Fri 9th to see "Boeing Boeing",  QEH on 10th to hear OAE and concert perf of Donizetti's "Imelda de Lambertazzi",  and Haydn's "The Seasons" at the Barbican on Sunday afternoon 11th, with JEG and the crew.

Fabbie Dabbie !! Wink

Then on Monday it will be back on down to Cornwall in readiness for all the Easter festivities (IMS Prussia Cove & St Endellion mainly)

I'll be at the QEH on the 10th as well to hear the OAE and Mark Elder, so I'll think of you being under the same roof.  I was thinking of going to Boeing Boeing some time but I'm not sure how it'll stand up - might be awfully dated now;  mind you it does have Roger Allam in it, so that might reason enough to go.  Could you let us know afterwards what you thought of it?

Hope you have a great weekend!

Ooooh ! how great, to think another of "us" is at QEH.

I'll certainly give you a run-down after I've seen the play. Wont be back at work, and on the board again until Tues 13th.

The weekend was FABBIE !  Sorry I didn't have time to meet up with you, Lord Byron, my feet hardly hit the ground...

"Boeing Boeing" was very enjoyable, and extremely well performed, they have set it in it's time, so doesn't seem dated, well worth seeing for a laugh or fifteen.

Mark Elder and the OAE were wonderful, a real treat.

JEG and Haydn's Seasons was wonderful too, (though I dont much like the impenetrable Barbican as a venue, or the dry accoustic).
Had a lovely double Mmwaah XX from JEG at the after concert reception  Kiss  Kiss
he is Sooooo tolerant of me and my fan-ness !!

Also a nice wee chat with the DELICIOUS Deitrich Henschel .... who is gorgeous !

Sorry if my spelling is all over the place...exhausted and back on Cornish soil again !

Next London trip ? For the Proms....13-16 July !!  What am I like?

Book, what do you want a seat for?  Get a season ticket.

Glad you had such a wonderful weekend, Jan, and I agree that the OAE & Elder were fab!  I thought I didn't much like Donizetti but I've changed my mind now. And what a refreshing change to have a baritone as hero.  Although Massimo Giordano ain't bad - for a tenor!
