Listening to Sunday's Early Music Show, reminds me of an old thread I started explaining my difficulty with voices in "classical" music when I first started listening. I didn't mention there and am risking doing so now, that I find Marco Beasley's voice just about my favourite in any genre. It seems so effortless and unforced.

Absolutely, BobbyZ!

As you'd imagine, I love all things operatic, but Beesley's voice is wonderful. Have you heard his collaboration with Christina Pluhar and her group L'Arpeggiata, celebrating tarantellas? Wonderful stuff, especially Beesley's singing of the very first song which opens the disc...

Hi IGI

Yes, I have the tarantella disk and a couple of others by L'Arpegiatta featuring Beasley. Most recently Rappresentatione di Anima et di Corpo by Cavalieri. Amazon's "you liked this so you should like this" suggestions are useful sometimes !

A day late and a bit more than a dollar short, I am Listening Again to the Sunday broadcast on "Italian Dance Songs" and I have to say that since I discovered the cornetto I have never heard it sing as well as it does at the lips of Bruce Dickey.

I knew that it was once used as an alternative for the human voice but had never previously heard such a beautifully vocal performance.

No, I'm not a complete idiot. I'm only a halfwit. In fact I'm actually a catfish.
