Rob_G,

How about a (very) short mp3 link on this thread. Then the board might just discuss something with you!

Moderated due to complaint.

Direct insult/attack on a board member. Swearing (albeit masked) also aimed at a board member.

Rob_G,

You might not care about replies to your mails, but I care about responses to mine. Please remember this is a community of around 80 members so your responses could offend.

Did you read Michael's very simple rules? Did you understand them?

Not sure we've tried links to sound from here, I'll have a go.

I've sought out a clip of the symohony and this I assume is the start of the third movement entitled 'Shades' (recorded off Amazon):

Shades

yes that's the 3rd movement - 'shades', it's got a lovely trio! Not a great recording but it will do for the time being.

Rob,

It's from a Marco Polo recording with Peter Marchbank cond. Just those few seconds makes me want to here more so I will look out for it.

IThat illustrates how we can link to clips and write the name of the piece. The sound is worsened by my making mp3 via Audacity.

Anyway I've posted another mail for the group here as a guide to linking to clips, I'll ask Michael to move it to the announcement section.

Cheers,

Ive been trying to get Radio 3 to play Edward Downes's superb 1992 performance with the BBC Philharmonic for ages, its in their archives, I know.
