Can anybody tell me when CD Masters finishes....thought todays programme was especially good with Vaughan Williams  Sancta Civitas
Beethoven pc no 4 and Prokofiev no 7 - not heard the Prokofiev for some time but think its a fine work a kind of nostalgic look at the past after the masterly 5th and the anquished 6th....was going to post this msge on R3 Msge board but appears as another 1984 casuality - just wonder what will be in its place Huh  Cry

Belated reply to this offbeat. Jonathon Swain posted the date when CD Masters finally ends on the old board before it disappeared. Can't remember exactly but it was more or less the end of March. It will be replaced by a programme called Classic Collection, the only name mentioned as a presenter being Sarah Walker.

tks for that Bobby Z with all due respect to Sarah Walker i find it incredible that someone like Johnathon Swaine should be relegated to the night shift where the normal routine is just to introduce the titles - surely someone with his knowledge and enthusiam of music should be on during the day - but with this new regime its seems all sense goes out the window.... Quite odd isn't it. On THIS forum you can talk about anything, but nobody wants to talk about the R3 programme 'Music Matters'    Cheesy

CotW is looking for it's own board here methinks......

I yodelled in a bit of Skempton with Tom S before he got his current gigs , when he was composing, and from thye jist of our conversation then I can't believe he's happy with what's happening. Doing a great job though notwithstanding.
