Listening to FM broadcasts through headphones, I notice an odd thing whenever applause comes on. One stereo channel starts cutting in and out: two seconds of applause, two seconds of silence, two seconds of applause, two seconds of silence... while the other channel plays consistent applause.

But I don't hear it when the music is playing. Only when the applause is on 

And it's been pretty consistent over all the concerts.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
