Era solo un mio sospetto

« on: 22:28:00, 05-09-2008 »

I am going away for a bit.

My emails are on Microsoft Office Outlook.

I would love to have one of those standard messages that say "Don Basilio will not be able to reply to emails until 25 September.  Have a nice day.  Enjoy."  Phrased in a rather more Augustan style.

However I tried last time we were away and understood it would only work if Microsoft were my isp, or something.

Any suggestions?

You'll need to refer to your ISP for this one, B: some provide the service, some don't. Do you not have a help tab that lists alternatives, such as 'To set your auto-reply message'?

If so, follow the instructions.

And I was being so restrained in not adding "Hope your bit's worth going away for", Mills. No point in holding back now, since you've broached the dam.

I know I bang on about this but if you use Yahoo or Googlemail it's dead simple.

You won't be able to do it thru Outlook DB since that sits on your PC - which won't be turned on.

Dead easy with Tesco's mail and the .Mac/.Me protocol too, Andy, which is why I suggested visiting the ISP's 'Help' tab: if it the service is provided, it can be set up in seconds.
