I've been finding it increasingly difficult, now that I regularly use 3 different computers and occasionally others to go online, to keep my bookmarks synchronized. I've tried uploading the html file that Firefox exports but that doesn't really help much, other than to make old bookmarks available whichever machine I'm on.

Last night I signed up to delicious which provides a Firefox add-on and uploads all of your bookmarks for you. By default these are private. It also adds some buttons to Firefox which you can use to bookmark sites, though these seem to be public by default.

I haven't really investigated much yet, so does anyone else have any experience of using delicious or similar?

One thing it has revealed to me is that I've got 1768 pages bookmarked in Firefox on my desktop Shocked - a lot of these must be obsolete by now.

I use delicious Andy and I find it very useful: the integration with FF3 is a good thing.

The idea behind it is 'social bookmarking', so bookmarks are set to public when you add them, although you can make them private. Delicious also provides handy RSS feeds for pretty much any user/tag combination you can think of, so it can be a handy way to keep track of stuff too.

Well, it took long enough for me to find a password that Delicious was happy to accept, but I've now uploaded all my bookmarks and will see how useful this proves when I'm at another computer later on this week.

Thanks for the information and the link. Smiley

I have started keeping them on iGoogle. I sort of like the fact that you can tag them, rather than putting them in folders, so things that would be in a single folder (guess which one) can be identified by more than one relevant tag.

No, I'm not a complete idiot. I'm only a halfwit. In fact I'm actually a catfish.
