Just received this email from Tom Chant. Might outrage a few jazzers here, but what do I care?

Quote
Dear all,
Just a reminder about a couple of Marseille Figs dates this week:

We're playing tonight (Wednesday) at the Black Gardenia:
Wed. 13th Feb.
The Black Gardenia, 93 Dean St., London. 9 till late. £5 after 9.
It's a dark little basement joint with style galore.

And our launch party at the George Tavern on Friday:
Fri. 15th Feb.
The Dirty Canon Launch Party
The George Tavern (Upstairs Theatre), 373 Commercial Rd., London. 8 til late.
Free entry, but space is limited.
With guest musicians:
John Edwards, Jem Finer and Andrew Ranken
The George is a jolly old pub, and we've got their marvellously ragged old upstairs room.
Come one, come all.

Well, I like what Tom does with the Cinematics and with Eddie and John, so when I got the email I thought, why not? After all John Edwards is in there as guest, too. Anyway, I couldn't make either gig, do I ordered the CD. It arrived today (found it dead cheap, too). It's fun, but it ain't jazz. Wink  Did you spot Cornelius Cardew, (2 in, 2 down)? And how about Moe Tucker and Sun Ra?

Could you tell us what it is like then Bryn? I think I have a vague idea but I'd appreciate your explanations!

Well, I am certain to be doing all sorts of music various injustices, but my immediate, and very positive impression was of hillbillies on acid. Wink
