I didn't recognise the guy but thought of posting an "amusing" post asking if it was Jack Massarik. Then thought better of it, not wanting to offend KK if it was a pic of a musician he admires. Then I hovered my mouse over it and found out it IS Jack Massarik. The man responsible for me turning off Jazz Lineup on Saturday.

There was definitely something with Oor Jack. I do think that a critic ought to be able to remember the names of some if not all of the performers. Or if not then write them down and read them out. The next step would be to make some sort of observation on their performances.

There are a number of possible explanations. Answers on an old copy of the Evening Standard.

Angry Jack Massarik ahh! He's responsible for my having to pre-record Jazz Line and listen to it later spinning through his awful contributions and lugubrious tone. He had more than his fair share this week during the only hour of jazz we had this Saturday tea time, the audience seemed in a state of comatose before Julian Joseph managed to get him to finish !

Man!
Ever since Jackie Boy's celebrated (inebriated..) "torrents of hate" critique of Coltrane, I been RECORDING every word he says off the goddam radio.
Saturday's (10/3/07) painful splutterings were a bit of a TREAT... it makes for compelling, er... radio, innit. Edge of the bloomin' seat stuff.

Captain Sue, fer chrissakes...
