Anyone on here 'in the know' enough about when/whether it's happening this year, and whether the organisers have got their sense of fun back?

Looks like KK is correct as always regarding the acts booked. By coincidence, I got a circular in the post today from S4/C ( I'm not in Wales but I guess I could pick up the channel on digital somewhere ) Anyway, it mentions Brecon Jazz and states "we will be there broadcasting the highlights from world - renowned jazz players including Jools Holland and Lulu". Unbelievable innit ? To be fair it also mentions Humph and Chris Barber, well respect and all that but hardly names to set the pulse racing either and not exactly difficult to track down at other venues and other times.

LULU JAZZ BAND La Bande à Lulu, une joyeuse équipe de cinq musiciens professionnels, tous fondu de jazz et riches d'expériences diverses dans la plupart des formations de la région.

Looks like their last gig was Aug 2002. or their web guy has got bored.

The throbbing hotbed of Brecon would seem to be an ideal place for them to make a comeback then.
