(Moderators feel free to remove if not appropriate...)

I'm currently holding in my hands a book with one of my short stories in it  Shocked

I have to admit to feeling quite proud  Embarrassed . Even though it's from a tiny independent publisher, only available through a few on-line retailers, and not likely to sell many copies......it's the only thing I've ever had published under my own name.

My web site has a picture of the cover (which sadly doesn't have my name on it): http://www.heroes.force9.co.uk

IGF, this is fantastic news!! You should be feeling proud. Well done, huge congratulations and many claps on the back. The publishers will probably find themselves bombarded by orders now!

I think some of this is in order. Stand back everyone ...

Congrats, Mr Fan, and very well-deserved.

Incidentally, I'm rather in favour of a shameless plug thread where members need not be bashful. Nothing wrong with a bit a mutual self-congratulation where it's due. (Nothing to add myself though.)

Top stuff!  Getting any publisher to take fiction at all these days is a minor miracle - a couple of fingers of Laphroaig are in order there Smiley

They'd barely qualify  as literature, but I've been writing some things I'm going to mutter in between the turns at  a gig at The Space, Westferry-nice little venue-next Sat 23rd at 7.30pm. IRF has been very helpful in their gestation-Cheers compadre. Details of the gig and the artists on the bill, which is of a folky/ world mien with some classical training in evidence,  can be had via the links on my blog via the web link.

It is indeed a very nice little place (if you can find it!), and there is good food to be had in the adjoining bar. I won't be back in town until the following day unfortunately.

While I'm here: today, tomorrow and Tuesday there's an annual event at the Vortex in Dalston I shall also be very sorry to miss - Fete Quaqua, an improvisation event with its origins in Derek Bailey's celebrated Company festivals.

Thanks for your interest Richard. I'd have liked to catch the DB nights too, but preparations to wrap.
I hope to catch one of your Vortex sets soon.
