Just been surfing and it's easy to find composers of 'classical' music and 'experimental' music on myspace.com, and you can listen to their compositions.

For example I had no problem listening to and enjoying this composer's violin concerto:

Michael Kurek

and Alain Mayrand's piece 'Setting Free The Butterfly' was very nice I thought:

Alain Mayrand

but I was not really impressed with:

Christopher P Sly

Does anyone think there is anyone who is currently unknown but is 'seriously good' on Myspace.com?

Many thanks for opening this thread, John. Interesting stuff!

Here's another one:

Not unknown to listeners of Rob Cowan's Breakfast programme, but interesting anyway. Wink

Of course, one shouldn't trust everything on MySpace:

I wonder what Rosemary Brown thinks of the internet. I believe she stopped playing the piano ever since she died. Surprising. Roll Eyes

I thought bach was dead ?

Yes, My Lord, but he contacted Mrs Brown in a spiritual way several times. According to Mrs Brown, Bach was interested in pop music. He was fascinated by modern rhythm. Mrs Brown said that she never saw him smile, but he had a strong personality.

I've often wondered why Mrs Brown was only visited by composers of great genius and not by second or even third-rate figures like Joachim Raff or Reynaldo Hahn. Roll Eyes
