Elizabeth Biatashvilli (?!)

She is amazing...IMHO

A

Agreed, I remember seeing a tv programme of her playing chamber music in Edinburgh with Stephen Osbourne and Alban Gerhardt, I think in the very early days of BBC4. Sadly she doesn't seem to record much, though I have got an old BBC Music mag cover disk from when she was a young generation artist.

She is a resident at the Wigmore Hall I think, but I saw her in Manchester... lovely player IMHO!!

Disk of the week on CD Review this coming Saturday will be the Sibelius violin concerto played by Lisa Batiashvili ( having said she doesn't seem to record much ).

Did you enjoy the concert, Lord B? What did you think of the Mahler 6?

was good, felt the mahler went on too long, liked parts of it, am starting to think his music represents the weather at his holiday retreats, hence the variety and the 'cow bells', which are sounds he heard, like beethoven and his cuckoo in his 6th

this helped learn more
