I've only just found out about this, but it's incredibly tempting - the chance to hear some of our friends plus, later in the evening, one of my favourite works by Grisey (which I've previously only heard on a very unusually programmed Hänssler CD, coupled with Mozart/Berlioz/something else, which took me years to track down ...).

The city is a process which always veers away from the form envisaged and desired, ... whose revenge upon its architects and planners undoes every dream of mastery. It is [also] one of the sites where Dasein is assigned the impossible task of putting right what can never be put right. - Rob Lapsley

Does the website really call it that? Wink Another layer of mistranslation to add to the ones in the piece...

That's too, too funny.  (For the record, the title is I, purples, spat blood, laugh of beautiful lips)

(Too bad my piece The Crotch of Memory isn't on the same concert.)

Ahem. I did wonder about that 'blond' after posting it, but couldn't quite remember what I'd read this morning on the Festival's own website. I actually copy-pasted the details from another website (http://www.iam.pl/en/site/aktualnosci/warszawska_jesien); the Festival's website, at http://www.warszawska-jesien.art.pl/07/index.php?lang=en, has the correct title but is completely impossible to paste from thanks to its clever Flash design. (Believe me, I spent a few hours trying. Roll Eyes)

How you managed to spend more than 30 seconds at that website w/ that *#($&*(%ing background music they have is completely beyond me.

I turned the volume to mute quite quickly.

I take it you won't be there, Aaron, btw? I'm seriously considering it ...

Alas, no.  Too much craziness here at home at the moment w/ packing and such (and trying my best not to get too far behind on writing!).

I'm not in Poland, sadly, but just wanted to send a wave to our friends over there.
