Gentlefolks! Flights booked and ticket reserved: I'm going to be in London for November the first for Jonathan Powell's concerts. While understanding that it's long enough that everyone's going to be rather knackered afterwards, I would still very much like to see those of you here who will be about. (doubleposted from M&S)

So, I'm to see everyone tomorrow then? No doubt I'll find myself able to bump into somebody, but worth asking again.

I'll be the guy trying to concentrate by JP's left hand.
You can buy me a drink afterwards. I'll need it.

What? No hand-crossing then? I don't know. I haven't knowingly seen any of the scores before (apart from Out Jumps Jack Straw - as indeed I will!).

I'm going to show that picture to Andrew Toovey! I think he'd be very amused by it.
New cover picture for his score maybe, even?!

Missed you, increpatio - if in fact you were there. Several of us were (ahinton, Bryn, xyzzzz, tinners and jennyhorn for starters - oh, and member Powell played the piano, his own 6th sonata being the highlight of the evening).

I was intending to be there too, but in the afternoon I realised that yesterday was the only chance I'd have to write the lecture on Xenakis I'm giving in Holland next Tuesday, so I had to sit there tapping away until it was done.

Highlight for me though was Ives' The Celestial Railroad, which I've never heard before and was completely stunned by.

He was there! (I even have photographic evidence, though I'd better wait until he's back before asking whether he minds me posting it.)
I somehow managed to introduce xyzzzz__ to Bryn, and incre to ahinton, but not vice versa (I did however introduce xyzzzz__ and incre to each other, and we all went for a drink afterwards, which I very much needed after 3 hours of page-turning ...). Also, I saw autoharp from a distance but never managed to say hello - sorry, auto!

I was there indeed! Yeah; photo evidence is fine; I don't want people doubting my existence anyway.
Oh, and Alistair, you nabbed my photocopies; you brute! (wassisname said he'd mail me more in the post, so it doesn't actually matter, but still).
Was good meeting you tin and xyz; I think I had your back pointed out to me autoharp, as it happened.
Morning all!
