(c.f. the sort of thing like wot Mr Beethoven asks for in his Op 131 frinstance, he added clunkily).

This just in from Mr Butler:
'Precisely so! Not 'clunky' at all!'

I was very aware of the difference in the gaps between the broadcast version and the later performance, too, much preferring the second duration, where it might even have been a notated pause, just a gathering of breath, rather than a barrier between the two sections. I've spent a goodly time with this work over the past couple of days, finding more and more internal links and references: it really is a rich yet closely argued piece which reveals still more on each audition. I look forward to further performances and broadcasts with keen anticipation.

No plans for one, BBM. But let's wait until Mr Butler's vast empire of promotional executives, PR consultants and lifestyle management gurus have strutted their stuff. Shouldn't be long now.

Excuse moi.  I am head of a vast vampire of promotional executioners, I am so PR you would not believe it and my suits by Prada have to be believed, and my lifestyle gurus are in Uttar Pradesh, or even occasionally Utter Distress.  My handbags are good too.

Fear not, we will soon have Mr. Martle on board, it just takes a little coaxing, he is as shy as a faun in a sunlight forest dodging the sunbeams

You could always get this in the meantime, BBM:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Butler-O-Rio-Fixed-Doubles/dp/B0000269CL/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1205444231&sr=1-1

Two earlier orchestral pieces by the same composer. It's very good, and reasonably inexpensive.

Ah, Tin Pan Ballet, the disc which kicked off my martle music fixation many years ago. Be afraid, people, be very afraid: there's no antidote. Sorry. Wink

I like the look of that one at £58.82. That's less than ten times the price of the one I ordered last night. Only just less, by 68p, but still less.

Oh, phew, yes. I'd forgotten about the 'More buying choices' bit.

"Mmmmm. Drool. More buying choices..."

Thank you, Mr S. I had a rather guilt-ridden night thinking I had swiped the last one from under BBM's nose.
