For some reason I shall be near Mottram St Andrew, south of Manchester on Monday 27 October.  Anyone know it?  Anyone know any decent pubs there for a meet up?

Sorry - don't really know Manchester. Somehow it manages to be about 3 hours from me - not sure how when London is only 2.   Smiley

It's kind of near Macclesfield ( Cheshire) I think. Now Macclesfield is a busy market town and has some good amenities, I would suggest you try to go there tommo... sorry I can't be better use!

Ooooh Tommo! An r3ok meet near me?!!! I'll do my best to attend! I know the name Mottram St Andrew but I don't think I've ever been there. Fairly posh I think. Near Prestbury. Ah yes, just found it on a map. Only about half an hour from me. Sorry I can't suggest a good pub but I'll ask friends if they can recommend one.

Is this Meet Up still on, Tommo?
I was thinking I could bring you one of those baby roses but slight disaster - their pots were transported to their new garden in a plastic tray without drainage holes and accidentally left in it... I only noticed the other day as I've hardly been out into the garden. So they have drowned roots and are very sickly looking roses. Cry Oh well, if we run out of conversation we can always compare gardening disasters!

Uggh, Er, wot?

Oh yes.  Erm, I'll just check the diary.  Yep, still there.  Tomorrow, I'll have to check when the train arrives.  Guess should be there at 8ish.

So, anyone else turning up?

Tommo

(MJ - if we are discussing gardening disasters, book a second evening as we will run out of time.....  Smiley)

'Appy Christmas and Festal Cheer, Tommo, AndyD and MabelJane. Looks a cosy place for delightful company, mince pies and wassailing.

Looks like there's a firework on top instead of a fairy Shocked Grin
Really enjoyed our little meet-up - not too many gardening disasters between us!

I think the pub must have been trying to mix Christmas, Halloween, bonfire night and all other seasonal events.  The tree will have a firework on it, and I suspect that if you look hard enough you'll find an Easter bunny.

Lovely evening with lovely people, even if the venue was a bit premature!
