A short (15 minute) film on the CBC web site:

Quote
Alec Hou was concertmaster for the Shanghai Conservatory when Mao's Cultural Revolution ended his classical musical career. Imprisoned and forced into labour camps, he fled to Canada.
Now, more than 25 years later, he's returning to Shanghai, to face the demons of his past in China, but also to perform the music he loves.
Alec's Shanghai concert, which features a symphony performance of Mozart Concert No. 5, is made even more special because he is conducting his daughter, internationally-acclaimed violinist Yi-Jia Susanne Hou, as soloist.

I thought it was an interesting story (and I like the violinist!)
