OK, not Radio3, but Radio2 and I couldn't find anywhere sensible for it.

The Charles Hazlewood Radio 2 show returns tonight (Wed 14 Nov 07) 10 - 11pm:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/hazlewood/

It's a theme-based show which endeavours to link disparate styles of music through a common, erm, theme of Mr Hazlewood's choosing.

Like all good radio shows (Mixing It, WtSiT, Late Junction etc), there's stuff on there I like and stuff I don't, but it's usually interesting, IMO.

Tell you what, Reiner Torheit.

How about you post a list of radio programmes that match your criteria to discuss? That way I save myself the embarrassment of posting something about a programme that I find interesting and informative - but which clearly doesn't meet your high standards - and everybody's happy.

rik,

Just to interpose for a moment; it looks as if you're reading Reiner's comments as a personal attack on your musical tastes, whereas I think you'll find it's not so much the programme as its presenter which is the issue here, and incidentally at the Beeb 3 board too, where things are a touch more explicit....

Mr Hazelwood hasn't exactly endeared himself to a fair number of Radio3 listeners, (or BBC4 Proms watchers come to that) and has been the subject of quite a few comments here. I'd hazzard a guess that Reiner would very happily listen to the programme, just as long as the links were removed, and would point out that Charlie is far from being the only presenter on R3 receiving brickbats from posters here and at The Other Place. I have to admit, too, that there are certain programmes I tend to avoid on several channels simply because the presenter annoys me, even though there may be material therein which I'd find appealing: indeed I often record them and edit out the talk before listening.

It's one of those indistinct impressions that can never be proved but the feeling I get is that the presenters of eclectic shows like LJ and Mixing It have ( had ? ) a genuine interest and enjoyment in spreading their net far and wide to bring items of interest to listeners and create a worthwhile show. Whereas CH is just ticking boxes to try to appear cool. Will check the playlist though to see if it's worth a go on listen again.

Any news on the Resonance FM front with Messrs Russell and Sandall ?

This comment recently appeared on the Resonance FM Forum from a Resonant person -

... "Where's The Skill In That" will return but both presenters are rather busy with their proper jobs. sorry, I can't be more specific but hold-tight ...
