At 9am this morning it was still there (and still accepting posts, it seems).
I've just checked again and the new messageboards are now in place - New Music and the like have gone.

I can see the old thread titles via the old link (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio3/F2620066) but it now says "Deleted" as the messageboard title and I can't open any of the threads. Sad

Also, contrary to what we were told, I can't open any of the old threads via "Your discussions" (though again, I can see the titles of threads where I posted).

Not good.
It's interesting that by completely removing the old boards, they have very effectively hidden the dissent over the decimation of New Music coverage on Radio 3. I bet all the complaints we sent never get displayed on the BBC Complaints web page either. Soon (hopes Roger Wright) there will be no trace that there ever WAS a programme called Mixing It, let alone all the upset caused when it ended.....

Yes, some of the links seem to be dropped, but some of them I could access by clicking on the time of the last message (on the right) rather than the thread title. Maybe it's just a glitch as it seems to be the most recent ones that aren't accessible...maybe not archived yet?

It would appear that the only way to see anything from the 'old' R3 New Music MB is to select the 'My Discussions' button after logging in. However, you can only view the topics to which you've added content/replies. Viewing and browsing the complete listing of all NM Topics is not an option.

Just hope folks have archived the informative/interesting content offline for future reference.

Meanwhile I wonder what to make of this comment from Rob?

Perhaps some of us should pop over there and have a word?

Not so in my case.

I haven't contributed to this thread:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio3/F2620066?thread=3899034&latest=1#p45819363

and I can "see" it (I have *read it* before though ... I wonder if that makes a difference?)

Ollie, you don't think they're baulking at the prospect of us talking about new music on their Breakfast board, do you? Back to the ghetto? <erm>

About these archived discussions: having before today been worried that I might lose mine, I'm now much less worried than everyone else seems to be by the odd assortment of blank pages and the like that are currently coming up. I believe the system is taking its time to 're-cache' things. At the moment I can access some but not all threads via the various URLs I'd saved in my Favourites list. I'm not sure whether they'll all be restored after said re-cacheing, or whether alternatively they'll all be re-located at new URLs and/or only available through 'My discussions'. But I'm certainly hoping that it'll still be possible when reading an archived thread to click on the name of a given contributor above a message and get to his/her discussions too.

I don't know if I'm being dim ,or you're talking about something else, but I have no difficult bringing up any of the old threads and messages at:-  http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio3/F2620064

Inspired by Kitty I've been going through saving the odd thing - you can set the site to show up to 200 posts per page which gets even Waffle Away down to a not impossible size. Must try to find Composers Variously Rated now.

(For those who, like me until this morning, don't know how to do this: your browser should have a Save Page As command. At least, Firefox does.)

Personally I do feel it might be worth having a word to Rob here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio3/F6643899?thread=3902530&skip=0&show=20#p45828682

...if only to register disapproval of New Music's fate.

Ollie if you're using Firefox, try the Scrapbook extension, it's wonderful for saving web pages, making exact copies in nearly all cases. Plus you can file them all away in folders so it's easy to organise your scrapbook.
