Who is Kats-Chemin? I tried to google, but could not find her. I think it is a woman, but may be I am wrong. Rob Cowan said in a thread that she/he is coming.
Also they played Raskatov's music on Afternoon performance. I never heard of him. The piece they played in Afternoon performance 27th Feb is strange, very commercial I would say. He is using some old music and dresses it up.

Elena Kats-Chernin grew up in the Soviet Union and Australia.
She studied with Helmut Lachenmann.
As a composer, she works a lot in theatre and dance, as well as concert music.
I once heard her music described as a mixture of Lachenmann, Weill and Klezmer.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/intune/pip/2p5rb/ this programme is at 5 and I will have to listen to it on listen again. I don't know this composer Tarik O'Regan. He must be well known composer.
I found that his music is not bad really. May be it is more for people like me, who are more conservative in their taste.

From what I have seen, Tarik O'Regan has written quite a quantity of choral music, fairly conservative in idiom, although I can't comment on the quality.

I heard Katz-Chernin's music yesterday morning. I am surprised he studied with Lacherman. Her music is more traditional. I don't think it is banal, but it is sure pretty. Many people will find it likable. I think I found it likable, but it is not daring. I only heard one piece of hers and it is not fair to make an opinion about her on this bases. Some composers can write in popular style and in more modern. (Schostakovich did and Gubaidulina I heard wrote tuneful music for cartoons).

Music of Henze for oboe was broadcasted on CD masters. I found it very enjoyable. There is a lot of imagination in music. It is for oboe and harp and orchestra.
