The Wagner opera broadcast was cut off quite abruptly as it was already a minute past 11 and H&N should have started at 11 - and then Ian Skelly spent several minutes trailing forthcoming programmes

Surely when you're running late trailers are expendable?

I got a phone call from the BBC Pronunciation Unit the other day to check pronunciation of the piece's title. Maybe the presenter needed the extra time to practice saying it... Wink

And how do you pronounce it, Stuart?

I'm looking forward to catching Hear and Now on Listen Again - particularly as my good friend Jono Cole has a piece on this edition - the excellent Temporale Distante, which I recommend to all...

(Martin - [An-cre-ne wis-se] - just as it's written but with more European vowels, instead of Modern English ones. (Middle English, before the Great Vowel Shift don't you know...) Funnily enough the presenter still managed to struggle with it, as well as my own name and that of the soloist!)
