I know one or two Frenchpersons who are finding this link helpful at present. Perhaps we should show our solidarity.

I had to read that twice, Lord B!  Grin

Strictly from the point of view of British national interests it would be better if she won in that the French are really in need of the kind of tough reforms that Sarky says he'll do - without them, they'll continue to disintegrate as a country - and she won't be able to put such reforms in place. And what's bad for France is ipso facto usually good for England, as De Gaulle said (though he put it the other way round, of course!)

That said, I suppose it would be a shame to see a once great country go down the pan.

The Emperor suspected they were right. But he dared not stop and so on he walked, more proudly than ever. And his courtiers behind him held high the train... that wasn't there at all.

So, basically, Simon is saying it'd be a win-win situation for the UK!

France goes to the dogs, under a hot babe!  Grin

Seriously, I don't want Sarko to win: he's just not French enough to run France.

Anybody here what happened to the independent ex-farmer candidate, forgot his name-got up the nose of McDonalds in France, Palestinian support etc. Obviously not going to get far, but lobby influence perhaps?
I'd have thought agriculture was a pivotal issue nationally, plus immigration/ arondissement conditions for
immigrants?
