I don't know much about Olimpic game organizing and spending etc. I used to watch sport programs and even now watch it now and then. Our Greek friends were worried about Olimpic Games in their country. There was corruption and some people got rich. There were worries how they are going to pay for it etc. At the end it was a success. Many people got rich or made money from it. I did not hear them complain after Olimpic games, but I heard a lot before the games. I hope London Olimpic in 2012 will be a success and I wish it.

it is just poor, far too indistinct and pointy cornered. scarcely forms a gastalt that will work in an instant. and the colour, at least the pink that i saw was queasy acid.

I agree with the one who says it looks like a broken swastika.

After the farce of the Millennium Dome, the Wobbly Bridge and the new Wembley, what on earth made us think we could run the Olympic Games? The Greek games may have been successful but they're paying for it now and the Mexicans are still paying for their 1968 games. It's this great god sport that we're all supposed to worship. I don't mind looking in on how Leicester City, or even Leicestershire CC, are doing but who cares who wins the hammer throwing or the fencing? How many people can name the contestants from last time?

I think it's a fine reflection of what the British people think of hosting the Olympic games. I mean, we don't want them so we might as well bugger up everything connected with them. Bravo to that designer for daring to express the mood of the nation.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

"Back in the day" a logo was drawn by the member of a priniting firm who had O level art, and cost about £50. It's the price that fascinates me rather than the outcome. I wonder what was paid for the London 1948 one, or some of the wonderful Underground posters? Harry Beck got about a fiver for the tube map. Edit:- What was wrong with this (used for the bid)? PS -I find it disturbing that so many Guardian readers think the latest one looks like Lisa Simpson giving sexual favours

Oh dear. Not only does this logo trigger scathing citicism and general disgruntlement, apparently it can also trigger seizures. The all flashing dancing version has now been pulled and is being reconsidered. But only the flashdance version though ........
