A group of five of the west's most senior military officers and strategists, meeting in Brussels, today issued a statement which contained the following Orwellian words:

"The first use of nuclear weapons must remain in the quiver of escalation as the ultimate instrument to prevent the use of weapons of mass destruction."

Horrifying.  And it gets worse when you look at the detail of the story; these people want to remove themselves from any structure of political accountability, whether national or in the United Nations, with decisions about war left solely in the hands of generals.

This looks like one of those occasions when the masks slips and the utter inhumanity and depravity of these people is laid plain for all to see.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

Yup, these wankers won't get caught with their pants down a second time, when it turns out that there weren't any WMD to start with... "first strike" relieves them of the tedious need to back-up their claims for WMD, by destroying the "evidence" ahead of the game.

That's what they meant when they said they're lining-up a series of missile silos along Russia's borders as, errr, "protection" against Axis-Of-Weevils countries.

All it needs is President "Mad Mac" McCain at the controls, and "the Rapture" will be on its "Holy" way...
