$1,500,000 for making an unauthorised copy of a ten-track CD.

No, they're serious.

Really.

Fortunately, copying a CD (for the purposes of listening to it on your computer or iPod) has just become legal in this country (it hasn't been until now) so if these fines travel to the UK, we won't all get caught every time we want to take our music with us.
