The Royal Liverpool Phil is, very laudably, trying to raise enough money to provide free and subsidised Family Concert tickets for disadvantaged children, the aim being that every child in the area will hear the orchestra play live. To help, we are asked to buy notes from the melody line of the 4th movement of Beethoven 5, at a £5 note for a note. There are about 4000 of these notes, we are told in a letter from the conductor known locally as "Dishy Vasily" (Petrenko). There is going to be an interractive website where we can "see" and "hear" the notes we have bought.
I wonder if we can choose which note? There are probably some I wouldn't want
