And no doubt once Scotland's on its own, he'll then want independence for Orkney, too. 

There are a huge number of swings and roundabouts to be counted into the equation: unfortunately many of the separatists focus solely on the advantages and ignore the negative aspects that such a repositioning is likely to occasion. Frankly, I can see about as many points on either side and thus tend to change my mind depending on the latest big plus or minus that's been brought up, so I couldn't tell you which way I'd vote yet, though in case of any doubt, I'd opt for the status quo.
