The home of the BPO is ablaze, although the fire is currently confined to the roof only.

First reports suggest no-one injured.  The report mentions that orchestra members were able to return to the building to take instruments out of lockers...   I bet the viola section were amongst that number Wink

Boulez wasn't spotted in the area, was he? (Oh no, that was opera houses, wasn't it?). Wink

Graham Vick has said something rather similar, although he suggested using mines.

I wonder if it's me?

I was supposed to direct a show in Stavropol in March, but it was cancelled because of a theatre fire two weeks before my scheduled arrival (luckily we'd not sent the scenery and costumes from Moscow).

I'm leaving for Berlin on Thursday....

Which reminds me:
A viola player came home to find his house burned to the ground. The police told him, "Well, it appears that the conductor came around to your house and, well ... er ..."
The viola player's eyes lit up and he said excitedly, "The conductor? Came round to MY house?!"
