Britain's new visa system is keeping foreign performers from non-EU/USA out of the country.

Is it accidental poor planning?  Or carefully designed intention to give the appearance of openness whilst in fact throwing up the barricades?

It's simply following what America has been doing for the last few years (nothing new there, then). I know British bands who have struggled to play in the US because the visa application process is so draconian.
