She may not be pompous, but she's smug and ignorant. Ugh.

Don't get me wrong, Mary.  My suggestion that she might be marginally preferable to Boris in the personability department wasn't meant as a compliment!

The vindictive and petty abuse of power she demonstrated in trying to get her brother-in-law sacked because he was seeking custody of his children, and trying to get a librarian sacked for refusing to remove books from the library shelves, makes her utterly fail the personality test in my eyes.  A nasty piece of work under the folksy ignorance.  I don't see much difference between that and Boris's façade of bumbling "charm."

One of the funniest things I've seen in a little while.

Now off to bed for real, though.

I'd hate to think I was being sexist in my dismissal of SP.

And that is at the back of my mind also.  Thank you Mary for settling that one.

Well, I'm probably arguing just for the sake of it now, Don B; but are you seriously suggesting that a woman is incapable of anti-female sexism?  (Not that I'm suggesting Mary is sexist in any way, of course).

She may not be pompous, but she's smug and ignorant. Ugh.

I'll risk seeming sexist again and tell you what a friend of mine said a propos this discussion.  He referred to the time-honoured blokey method of choosing between two otherwise indistinguishable candidates: choose the one with the big tits.  That would be Boris, then!

I'll get me coat.
