Colonel Oliver Northolt, distinguished American public servant and patriot, now residing in Middlesex, has issued the following statement on the recent presidential elections:

“On November the 4th, the American people decisively repudiated the centrist, consensual republicanism advocated by Senator John McCain. Unfortunately, this affirmation of core Republican values was overshadowed by the election of Senator Barrack Obama.

Senator Obama’s election has been overshadowed by serious voting irregularities. I personally have received reports from polling stations across the country that people who had never voted before were allowed to exercise a ballot.

The international grassroots backlash to Senator Obama’s election has already begun. The day after the result, railway workers in France went on strike.

Senator Obama’s first cabinet nominees are already causing concern:

* Secretary of State: Morton Feldman (with special responsibility for the King of Denmark)

* Secretary of Transportation: John Adams

I will be closely monitoring other appointments and would appreciate any information that other concerned world citizens may have. Thank you.”

From this side of the watery fence, I'm not sure I understand what all the fuss is about. I'm sure America has had presidents of Irish extraction before.

No, I'm not a complete idiot. I'm only a halfwit. In fact I'm actually a catfish.
