How sad. Watching/listening to Oscar Peterson Trio on early BBC2 programmes was one of the things that got me into jazz as a youth. I only ever bought the one album of his from that time, still got it.

BBC4 tv has a run of programmes it is calling Oscar Peterson night on Friday ( Feb 1st ). Jazz 625, In Concert, Words and Music and Omnibus featuring Oscar Peterson, plus a legends on Ella Fitzgerald ( same evening as Jazz Library on her ) and the first of a short series from Brecon Jazz ( Humphrey Lyttleton profile )
