The Dutch used to be so open-minded.

Surely, as one who so firmly supports absolute, objective and inalterable standards of taste, you should be amongst the first to understand why such open-mindedness might not continue, Mr Grew? By its very nature does it not permit continually changing subjective judgements?

Ron!!!  Shocked  Now you know that should be "writes-up" and "cocks-up"!  Grin

Another common one is the plural Mother-in-laws.  Mr. Grew would agree I am sure that it should be Mothers-in-law.

The city is a process which always veers away from the form envisaged and desired, ... whose revenge upon its architects and planners undoes every dream of mastery. It is [also] one of the sites where Dasein is assigned the impossible task of putting right what can never be put right. - Rob Lapsley
