You're right about Wingrave and Rake's Progress, Oz (the 'shadow' reference a giveaway); surprised that you've missed out on the 'Boatman', since it seems rather likely to me to be another BB opera....

Phew, I'm glad I'm not the only one who is still puzzling over h-h's 'Angel of Death, drunk...'. I've been wondering about Bacchantes, Robert Oppenheimer, The Fiery Angel, Hot Cross Nuns....without success.

BTW, would "The Angel of Death" be Le Grand Macabre, by any chance?

Ah, thank you Ron.

'Legless' would be The Silver Tassie? (And definitely not 'War and Pissed'.)

This one's for Ollie...

Pint-sized destroyer
Of all; yet, after a spell,
Just a mummy's boy.

Dead dad comes back as statue;
DG's sent to hell.
