just watched the first act of this superb production - the Boccanegra is Thomas Hampson, and he is superb! Helped of course by Peter Stein's direction and Daniele Gatti's conducting - the duet with Amelia was very moving, and he is so intense and convincing in the Council Chamber scene. (He looks gorgeous in white, too! Wink )
