Teresa Stich Randall has died.  The link is to the Telegraph obituary.

She was, in her day, a wonderful Mozart singer and superb in Cosi at the Aix festival

For many years I knew her only for her phenomenal Sophie in the famous Columbia 'Rosenkavalier' (that's the Schwarzkopf/Karajan/Legge one, 33CX 1492-5). The purity of her responses in the presentation scene outshone  even Elisabeth Schumann.

She is also the singer in my favourite Mahler 4,  with Otto Klemperer and the Wiener Symphoniker, 21 June 1955, currently on Testament SBT 1397.
