Another potential archive goody appears on TTN tonight:

1.00am

A concert recorded in 1983 in Lier, Belgium.

Rameau, Jean-Philippe (1683-1764): Zoroastre

Zoroastre ...... John Elwes (tenor)
Amelite ...... Greta de Reyghere (soprano)
Erinice ...... Mieke van der Sluis (soprano)
Cephie ...... Agnès Mellon (soprano)
Abramane ...... Gregory Reinhart (bass)
Oromases ...... Jacques Bona (baritone)
Zopire ...... Michel Verschaeve (baritone)
Narbanor ...... François Fauché (bass)
La Vengeance ...... Philippe Cantor (tenor)
Collegium Vocale, Ghent
La Petite Bande
Sigiswald Kuijken (conductor)

Just under 3'10" running time.

Later on there's a Strauss Macbeth and some Arts Florissants Monteverdi, as well as some Salmenhaara and Françaix

Also another example of perverse scheduling habitable-hours-wise, imo

As you might know, Ron, that's one of Rameau's finest outings.  Looks like the same cast as in Kuijken's recording, which lasted very nicely until (IMO) superseded by Christie's.

I remember it being a lot longer than three minutes though.  Wink

Oh dear! Looks like the late ending of the Prom might mean the loss of the start of 'Zoroastre'. Smiley

Still running about 3 minutes late, but hopefully they have enough slack to start TTN on time.

OK, another TTN heads-up...

I know that this is probably of limited appeal, but TTN has a Paris version of the BPO/Rattle concert which included the Adès Tevot and the Janá?ek Sinfonietta; first thing in the programme tonight:

A concert recorded in Paris as part of the Présences Festival in March 2007.
1.00am
Dvorák, Antonín (1841-1904): Symphony No 7 in D minor, Op 70
1.41am
Adès, Thomas (b.1971): Tevot
2.05am
Janacek, Leos (1854-1928): Sinfonietta, Op 60
Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra
Simon Rattle (conductor)
2.30am

If only TTN was TTD my life would be perfect.
