Apparently he has been ill and the recuperation is taking longer than expected. He's cancelled under doctor's orders, but is still slated to sing in Don Carlo next summer.
You can't blame him for this (unlike Bryn), but the ROH is really not having much luck!

Ooooh!!!!!!! I was on the ROH website only this afternoon trying to find a reasonable alternative to my existing ticket (so I can go to a very enticing concert on the night I originally chose) and couldn't find any affordable ones for the Villazon performances.  Now I can book whichever performance I like  Cheesy

Elizabeth Watts doing a Rosenblatt Recital at St John's Smith Square.

I haven't seen her live since she won the Ferrier award last year.  She's a lovely recitalist and is singing some things I have been longing to hear her do...

Hurrah.

Since my last post I have:
-been online at the ROH and booked the one remaining Amphitheatre ticket for the performance I had in mind (19th November)
-emailed the ROH to ask them nicely if they'll process my existing ticket as an exchange rather than a return
-been online at St John's and booked for the recital on 13th November
-been online at the Odeon and booked for the Tristan cinema screening from Glyndebourne

I'm always so productive in the middle of the night  Cheesy
