Full details here:

I'll be in the area on 2/3 October and I found this on operabase.com  Do any of you erudite people know anything about it or about the people responsible for it?  My German isn't good enough to follow it without a text (and, preferably, a translation) and I suspect such things won't be available at an event like this; so I'm rather relying on the visual and musical content being strong enough to hold my attention throughout.  Any clues would be most welcome.

I'm also hoping to catch Tannhäuser in Hagen.  I have a good idea what to expect in a German provincial opera house but if anyone has heard that it's particularly awful - or, indeed, particularly good and likely to sell out - I'd be interested to get this information.  Do you get extra points for seeing Wagner in Hagen, btw, or do you only get them for seeing Götterdämmerung there?

I found the last paragraph of the synopsis particularly intriguing Smiley

With the character of Artus, Merlin holds the mirror up to mankind in order to bring people closer to themselves. According to his belief, a human being will be able to take decisions even at the sight of death.

We like to call to your attention our new service: A free bidirectional shuttle service operates from the central station Essen to the Maschinenhalle Zweckel in Gladbeck .
